My Story
There was a time when I weighed over 290 pounds and felt completely out of control of my health.
I had quit smoking after 30 years and thought I was finally moving in the right direction. Instead, my body started sending warning signs I couldn’t ignore. I was constantly thirsty. My energy was low. And deep down, I knew something wasn’t right.
The day everything got real:
When I finally convinced a doctor to check my blood sugar with a finger-stick test, the result came back over 500 mg/dL.
Not borderline. Not slightly high. Dangerously high.
Around that same time, I had just lost my 29-year-old sister to cancer. That shook me to my core. I remember looking at my young son and realizing I might not be around long enough to watch him grow up if I didn’t change something.
Then came the moment I’ll never forget: a doctor told me plainly, “If you want to see your son graduate high school, you need to change something.” That hit me hard. Not with shame — with clarity.
The Years of Starting Over
Like many people, I tried everything. Low-fat diets. Low-carb plans. Programs that promised fast results. I would lose weight… then gain it back — often with more added on.
Each restart felt harder than the last. I wasn’t lazy. I wasn’t undisciplined. I just didn’t have a system that worked in real life long-term.
What I needed wasn’t another extreme plan. I needed something calm. Repeatable. Sustainable.
What Finally Changed
Two things finally shifted everything for me: mindset and fasting simplicity.
1) Mindset
I stopped chasing perfection. I stopped thinking in terms of “all or nothing.” Instead of trying to overhaul my entire life overnight, I focused on building consistency.
2) Fasting + Simplicity
I eventually discovered a structured fasting approach that fit my life instead of controlling it. Not extreme. Not punishing. Just structured.
Over time, this helped stabilize my energy, support my blood sugar habits, and simplify how I ate.
Where I Am Today
Today I weigh around 158 pounds. I’ve lost over 130 pounds from my highest weight. My A1C and blood sugar are dramatically improved. My energy is better. My mobility is better. My confidence is back.
Most importantly — I’m still here. Still improving. Still building the next phase of my life.
Why I Built This Site
I want the next 20 years of my life to be better than the last 20.
If you’re over 40 or 50, worried about blood sugar or weight, tired of extreme programs, or scared about the future — you’re not alone.
You don’t need perfection. You don’t need extremes. You just need a calm place to start again.
